Ukraine - Country of Dreams

Our peaceful country Ukraine is a dreamland for us at the moment. We would like to go out one day and see no war, around us only peaceful people and the beauty of nature. We don’t want to hear the drones and air raid sirens, see the missiles and spend hours in the shelters. We want to have a future, enjoy the beauty of our native land, and live in peace and harmony. We long for peaceful springs… And let the water carry away all the hardships and atrocities of wars.

I heard it — or was it a dream?

That there is a land of dreams.

In that land grows a magic grove,

Where anyone may freely roam,

Feel the mysteries unfold,

And hold the secrets of wondrous spells.

Let the river carry me

In a boat of fantasy,

Lift me to the sky above,

As if I’m drifting in a dream.

There are passageways so deep,

Reaching down to secret roots.

There, the beasts of heavenly sorrow sleep…

Yet I never ask myself

Where that land is on the map —

I just set off without delay,
